I agree that communication is changing and there is so much technology out there for our students to learn. I hope you can check out the video conference I viewed. "If all my classes did this" was the name of it. --Jenna

If you get to the place in that picture, you must take me with you.
As you said, I agree that we as teachers have to be careful about what pictures the students have access to.

Hi, I so agree with you that students need to be aware of copywrite laws. Keep up the good work.

This is a big concern of mine. You see things on telelvision all of the time about the dangers. More needs to be done to educate parents and teachers about ways to keep kids safe.

Internet Safety is something that is definitely a big topic now days. We can no longer close our eyes to the dangers that exist from using the internet. Many initiatives have and are currently being made to teach this better. Parents especially should be learning more and teaching this in the home. Ignorance on this topic can have disastrous results.

I think you have a great point about providing internet safety programs for students and parents. A school-wide Acceptable Use Contract is a great way to start this dialogue. Several parents mentioned that signing our school's acceptable use contract started important conversations at home regarding internet safety and proper use.

Blogs are great for publishing and sharing work but let/s let second graders be creative. Maybe something oral or more graphic would be more creative. Maybe (voice thread) and or KidPix slide shows embedded in a class Blog

I think students will get into using the computer too. I am glad that we can do that in our school with so many different types of assignments/subjects. I think we could definitely share some wonderful ideas with each other (teachers) once we make it through this class.
